Palestinian Ambassador Hassassian Supports Al’Ard Palestinian Agri-Products

Palestinian Ambassador Hassassian Supports Al’Ard Palestinian Agri-Products, A Fair Trade Initiative, Promoting Palestinian Products at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair 2012, 2-4 September, London Olympia

Al’Ard Palestinian Agri-Products Ltd. is a Palestinian company founded on the principles of social investment in Palestine. It seeks to enhance and promote sustained development in marginalized communities in Palestine. It is the winner of the Great Taste Gold 2012 Award. Al’Ard is the only Palestinian company present among 600 exhibitors at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair 2012 in London. Al’Ard means “The Land”, and from this land comes the company’s exquisite selection of premium organic and fair trade products including Extra virgin Olive oil, olives, Zaatar, sage, Nabulsi soap and dates.

With wide access to markets in Asia, America and Europe, Mr Ziad Anabtawi, Al’Ard’s CEO, is hoping to enter the British Market after this exhibition. He believes that their presence will “bring awareness to the world of the superb Palestinian Agri-Products” and will open a lot of opportunities for them to meet British businessmen who are interested in promoting and distributing Palestinian goods in Britain. Mr Qossay AbuZaytoun, the International Marketing coordinator, has a clear message “Our participation at the fair proves that Palestinian products are capable of competing in the global market.”

Professor Manuel Hassassian, the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, has attended the opening and visited Al Ard’s stall showing his support. “We are very proud to have Al’Ard participating at the Speciality Fine Food Fair, displaying and marketing authentic fair trade and high premium quality Palestinian produce.” And added, “This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses from all over the world to celebrate the taste of Palestine and I hope this will help the integration of Palestinian produce into the British market.” Other key Palestinian figures including Ms Sanaa Aloul, the Head of the Association of Palestinian Community along other Palestinian businessmen have visited the stall and discussed ways to help promote Al’Ard in the UK.

Al’Ard’s primary objective lies with the welfare of communities in Palestine that face economic challenges; it encourages and support Palestinian farmers to produce high quality premium products by providing them with the tools and training needed to produce products that meet international standards. Al’Ard works and supports farmers’ cooperatives in various villages such as Till and Deir Isteya.

Al A’rd is looking for distributors in the UK. For more information, please visit Al’Ard’s website at www.alardproducts.com
